I was born on March 8, 1996 in Piatra Neamţ (Romania), and I started playing tennis when I was five, under the supervision of coach Petru Iftimie. I have fallen in love with this sport right from the beginning, and when I was 8, I have already been included for the first time in the national teams of Romania. When I was ten, my parents decided to move to Bucharest in order for me to have a better future.
During this period I started participate in international competitions, namely by playing in the U12, U14 and U16 categories of the Tennis Europe Circuit and I managed to enter the top 50. In 2011, I started to play in the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors circuit, where my highest ranking was 152 ITF Juniors (combined, June 18 2012). My best results as a junior are presented in Career » Results » Juniors Singles & Doubles.
In parallel, I successfully continued my middle and high-school education – at Şcoala Gimnazială nr. 49, where I graduated 1st with a 9.99 out of 10.00 GPA, and at Colegiul Naţional Emil Racoviţă respectively, both located in Bucharest. I completed my undergraduate studies from 2015 to 2018, at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies – Marketing Department, where I earned a Master’s degree with a 10.00 GPA. I continued by graduating the CNFP Coaching School – with a 10.00 GPA, which earned me the tennis coach license.
My professional tennis player career started in 2013, when I was 17, in the ITF circuit, my highest rankings being 1 ITF Women (Dec 23, 2019 – Apr 1, 2022), 380 WTA Singles (Jul 26, 2021) and 268 WTA Doubles (Jan 30, 2023). In 2013 I have also started competing in the Romanian Women National Championships, my best results being 2 finals (2014 and 201), one third place (2019) – in the Singles competitions, and 5 national champion titles with the team. My professional record is extensively presented in Career » Professional Record and my most important results in Career » Results » Women Singles & Doubles » 2023, Women Singles & Doubles » 2018 -2022 și Women Singles & Doubles » 2013 – 2017.
These are the milestones of my education and tennis career. I am confident that I have built a career during these 10 years when I have traveled the world far and wide (and I am not yet going to stop). Withstanding for so long the turmoil caused by everyday life, through airports, trains, buses, hotels, eating on the run is an achievement in itself. But the fact that in between all these trips I managed to play finals, win titles and study with very good results, I think is even more important. And that I did all this with a financial support coming almost exclusively from my income and from the help given by my family, makes me feel really proud.
